Quality Management
ISO (International Organization for Standardisation): Standards are a vehicle for the sharing of knowledge, technology and good practices: an essential component of the world-wide industrial and post-industrial infrastructure supporting economic activities, societal needs and more equitable opportunities – in other words, sustainable development of educational institutions through world standardization of activities that contributes towards the trade of products, services, good business practices and to fostering technological innovation.
ISO considers this trend of utmost importance and believes in the fundamental contribution that educational institutions can give on teaching what international standardization is and what can be achieved through it.
Managed progression to Universities
SHML has a progressive managed agreement with the University of Gloucestershire whereby students who successfully complete our Higher Diploma in Hotel Management or our Associate Degree in Hotel Management can go onto doing a 38 week top up Bachelor degree (Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Strategic Hospitality Management) at the University of Gloucestershire in England.
In response to an escalating interest from applicants for joint-programs with Asian partner universities - students anticipating a soft entry for a career in Asia - SHML agreed and signed a MoU/ Memorandum of Understanding with S.I.C (Sripatum University, Bangkok) for a BBA in Hotel Management and with D.P.U.I.C (Dhurakji Pundit University Bangkok) for a BBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management.
The memorandum articulates different options, such as a 2+1+1 comprising 2 years in Thailand (DPUIC or SIC) 1 year in Switzerland (SHML), and a final year in Thailand (DPUIC or SIC).
Partnerships
SHML has secured partnerships with some international hotel companies. These partnerships allow qualifying students to intern within these hotels and resort companies throughout the World, thereby increasing their chances for an entry position on completion of their Associate degrees and Bachelor degrees.
Partnership hotels companies include: Orient Express Hotels, Trains and Cruises, GHM, Swiss Belhotel International, Genesis Hotels and Resorts and SPM (South Pacific Management). SHML is a member of Switzerland Tourism. (www.myswitzerland.ch) and of OSEC and its Swiss Business Hubs (www.osec.ch)
