ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS FOR:

Admissions for Preparatory English course

For the Preparatory Intensive English Language Program SHML requires the following English level in order to attend our intensive English Language course :

  1. TOEFL : minimum score of 400 points for the paper based test, 97 points for the computer based test and 32 on the internet-based course. Cambridge : need to have the Preliminary English Test (PET)
  2. I.E.L.T.S students minimum overall band of 4.

The preparatory program prepare students who do not meet the appropriate levels of English to start one of our undergraduate  or post graduate courses. This English course will cover English Grammar, Comprehension, Listening and Dictation, as well as Speaking. The course will also cover hospitality terminology including French culinary terms and an introductory computer course learning how to use Office 2007 Word, Excel and Power Point.
The course will be intensive and cover a minimum of 5 periods of English per day, with one on one tutorial classes for individual students. Basic mathematics commonly used in the hospitality industry will also be covered in this course.

Associate Degree in Hotel Management

Higher Diploma in Hotel Management

  • An official copy of your High School Diploma or equivalent. Students must have completed at least six (6) years of secondary education and provide evidence of it. Complete information of the school, including school transcript and/or certificate of public examination (including an explanatory note of the grading system) should be provided.
  • If English is not your mother tongue or if you have not studied in an English speaking school for at least 3 years, please enclose one of the following:
    • TOEFL: Minimum score of 500 points for the paper based test, 173      points for the computer based test and 61 on the internet-based test.
    • Cambridge First Certificate: grade C
    • I.E.L.T.S Students must apply to take the Academic Module examination and obtain a minimum overall band of 5.0
  • If you do not meet the above English requirements, you have the possibility of registering on our Intensive English language program to acquire the entry level for English.
  • A valid medical certificate.

BA (Hons) Strategic Hospitality Management

At the end of year 3–all Students of the Higher Diploma of Hotel & Resort Management course will as part of their English studies take the I.E.L.T.S English level 6 test and those passing the test will be eligible to enter the BA (Hons) Strategic Hospitality degree course.
Post Graduate Students wishing to enter the MBA course will need I.E.L.T.S English level 6 to participate.

Post Graduate Diploma in International Hotel Management

  • BA Degree in another discipline
  • If English is not your mother tongue or if you have not studied in an English speaking University for at least 3 years, please enclose one of the following:
    • TOEFL: Minimum score of 500 points for the paper based test 173 points for the computer based test and 61 on the internet-based test
    • Cambridge First Certificate: grade C
    • I.E.L.T.S Students must apply to take the Academic Moduel examination and obtain a minimum overall band of 5.0
  • If you do not meet the above English requriements, you have the possibility of registering on our Intensiv English language program to acquire the entry level for English.
  • A valid medical certificate.
This program is also available for professionals in middle management positions with 2-3 years working experience in the hospitality industry. Admission  depending on the experience and the outcome of the admission interview
