A warm welcome to our beautiful alpine village of Lenk situated in the Simmental of Canton Bern.

For many years Lenk has been a center of learning in the Alps and we at the Gemeinde (Council of Lenk) are very pleased that SHML has decided to open here Switzerland’s fi rst Boutique Hotel Management College. Being in the heartland of Switzerland where our traditions are fi rst and foremost Swiss, we are most pleased that SHML will be able to teach our traditions of swissness to you as an honoured guest of our village.

When you are not studying, Lenk has much to offer in the way of sports facilities for both Summer and Winter. In Summer our out door facilities include an Olympic size swimming pool, tennis courts, horse riding, mountain walking and climbing and for those of you who are more adventurous para-gliding. In Winter Lenk is famous in Switzerland for being a family ski area and is an ideal destination for learning how to ski, apart from gentle hills for learners we also possess some very challenging slopes for seasoned skiers. Ice skating is another of our Winter pastimes as is curling (a form of ice bowling) and we have many “après ski” venues where a warm drink or meal will energise you after a hard day of sport.

Our village has many shops including a super market, post offi ce, four banks, hotels and restaurants, as well as a fast train service linking us to the major cities of Switzerland and Europe.
