SHML, a registered company in the canton of Bern is Switzerland’s first Boutique Hotel School, conceptualized and developed to prepare Students for a promising hospitality career according to the operating philosophy of luxury boutique hotels and resorts operations. These reference jewels of class can be found throughout the World, ranging from deluxe two suite Resorts to two hundred plus room accommodation units and are represented, to name but a few, by such famous companies as The Leading Hotels of the World, Small Luxury Hotels and Relais & Chateaux. Their common denominator is “top drawer” ambiance, sustained by a corresponding management approach and superb guests’ service.

To ensure a rigorous academic language and substance, our College of Hospitality Management has concluded a managed progression agreement with the University of Gloucestershire for a top up degree (BA in Strategic Hospitality Management) at their campus in Cheltenham (UK).

College location is within the exceptionally safe Bernese Oberland of Switzerland and operated within a real boutique hotel, a coherent environment to educate and train students in the arts of personal service: dealing with fine foods and beverages, operate rooms division’s operations and develop business management proficiencies as expected within luxury boutique hotels and resorts.

SHML aims at perpetuating the time proven fundamentals of Swiss Hotel Operations, sustained by a typically Swiss ethos which has gained distinction marks over the last two centuries as unique in the World. With ethos it is implied integrity, neutrality, unity, impartiality, respect for one another and individual responsibility towards the environment.

College course outlines cannot diverge from other program outlines, except that at SHML content and actual transfer is dealt-with by professional hoteliers who have acquired, over the years, the skills to operate with state of the art software.
