Higher Diploma in International Hotel Management

Program designed for students committed to qualify and complete a Bachelor Degree within 3 years. The 2 years at Lenk will be very demanding, requiring focus, dedication to studies and additional applications—often in lieu of leisure time. This, to ensure high marks for a successful 3d year at one of our partner universities.

HIGHER DIPLOMA IN INTERNATIONAL HOTEL MANAGEMENT

Internships: 2 (5 to 7 months)
Age: 17 and above
Qualification: High School Diploma, A- or O-Level or equivalent local certificate, vocational school diploma
English level: IELTS 5, TOFEL 500

Progression and Accreditation: This course is part of the managed progression of SHML courses towards the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at the University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham, UK.

Course Program:

Four semesters, two in College (Semesters 1, & 3,) and two internships Semesters (2, & 4) either in Switzerland or with partner International Hotel companies:

Academic Semester 1: Food Service Operations: F&B outlets service, Banqueting Operations, Wine and Bar, Food Production Theory and Practice, Stewarding, F&B Human Resources, F&B Sales and Marketing, F&B Control, Housekeeping Operation, Business English, Basic German, Computer Office applications.

Internship Semester 2: This first internship (five to seven months) is planned to suit individual needs, commonly within F&B service operations (restaurants, bars, fast food, banqueting operations).

Academic Semester 3: Management of: F&B, Banqueting, Rooms Division, Sales and Marketing, Supervision, Human Resources, Managerial Accounting, Engineering/Maintenance/Energy, Research Methods, Hospitality Business Enterprise (Capstone), Hotel Business English, German language, Information technology.

Internship Semester 4: This second internship (five to seven months) is planned to take place within the Rooms Division environment, including Housekeeping and Front Office front-of-thehouse operations.

Fees:

Semester 1 Fees – CHF 29’725.-
Semester 3 Fees – CHF 29’725.- including accommodation in twin sharing double room, full board, health insurance and books & materials but excluding travel and visa costs.

Potential monthly earnings during internship: CHF 2’150.- gross per month (in Switzerland only).
