Higher Diploma In International Hotel Management (SHML) & BBA in Hospitality & Tourism Management (Dpuic)

Inter-College program designed for students who wish to experience two countries, predominantly in Switzerland, to obtain a Bachelor Degree within 3 years

  • Years 1 and 2 at SHML (Switzerland), including two internships, for the achievement of the Higher Diploma in Hotel Management.
  • Year 3 at DPUIC (Thailand) for the achievement of the BB

This fully integrated program adds to SHML Higher Diploma an International Bachelor in Business Administration. The cross-cultural experience is to assure high marks for students’ successful entry and integration within the international hospitality industry.

SHML Intakes: August and March

BBA In Hospitality And Tourism Management (Dpuic)
DPUIC Intakes February and October
Duration: 1 Academic year
Taught semesters: 2
Number of weeks per Semester: 15
Internships: 4 months (semester 2)
Age: 17 and above
Qualification: High School Diploma, A- or O-Level or equivalent local certificate, vocational school diploma
English level: IELTS 4.5, TOFEL 45

Progression and Accreditation: BBA (DPUIC) and Higher Diploma (SHML) qualifies graduates to progress toward the Master Degree in Hospitality Management, at the University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham, UK

Course Program:

SHML Academic Semester 1:

Food Service Operations: F&B outlets service, Banqueting Operations, Wine and Bar, Food Production Theory and Practice, Stewarding, F&B Human Resources, F&B Sales and Marketing, F&B Control, Housekeeping Operation, Business English, Basic German OR French, Computer Office applications.

SHML Internship Semester 1bis:

This first internship (five to seven months) is planned to suit individual needs, commonly within F&B service operations (restaurants, bars, fast food, banqueting operations).

SHML Academic Semester 2:

Management of: F&B, Banqueting, Rooms Division, Sales and Marketing, Supervision, Human Resources, Managerial Accounting, Engineering/Maintenance/Energy, Research Methods, Hospitality Business Enterprise (Capstone), Hotel Business English, German OR French, Information technology.

SHML Internship Semester 2bis:

This second internship (five to seven months) is planned to take place within the Rooms Division environment, including Housekeeping and Front Office front-ofthe-house operations.

DPUIC Academic year 3 (of DPUIC 4):

Semester 1
Hospitality & Tourism Information System, Tourist Behaviour, Service Operations Management, Major Elective, Free Elective, Minor course

Semester 2
Cooperative Education in Business Administration

Fees:

Semester 1 Fees – CHF 29’725.-
Semester 2 Fees – CHF 29’725.- including accommodation in twin sharing double room, full board, health insurance and books & materials but excluding travel and visa costs.

Upon successfully completing SHML Academic Semester 1 and 1st Internship, students are awarded:
Certificate in Hotel Operations

Upon successfully completing SHML Academic Semester 2 and 2nd Internship students are awarded:
Higher Diploma in International Hotel Management (SHML)

Upon successfully completing DPUIC Academic year 3 (of DPUIC 4, comprising 2 semesters) students are awarded:
BBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management (DPUIC)
